How important it is to take care of our environment bathed in olive groves, flagship of the essence of Montorio. Reddish molinaza land where the millenary trees grow strong and sculpted and have seen new generations born and grow through their branches. Century after century, the native liquid gold that emerges from its fruits has been successfully consolidating itself in the market. Of this they are experts in Prieto Reina Oils, known under the commercial brand Pago las Monjas, a Montorean company that participates in the XXI Olive Tree Fair.

Pago Las Monjas, is a family project with its origin in the place called Finca las Monjas, an enclave of 65 hectares of olive groves in the heart of the Montoro-Cardeña Natural Park. This firm produces olives of the Picual and Nevadillo Negro variety, native to the Sierra de Montoro, which give a unique and exclusive flavor to its oils. As it has a high content of polyphenols, it gives the oil a characteristic bitterness and spiciness as well as excellent stability against oxidation.

Nature, culture and family tradition permeate its lands where the know-how and careful care of the olive tree have been maintained over time, renewed by the incorporation of the latest techniques in order to provide unique oils in the world as it is the Early Black Nevadillo; an Ultra Premium Extra Virgin Olive Oil recognized by international awards such as the Evooleum Guide or the World Olive Oil Competition in New York.

The careful artisanal production of extra virgin olive oil follows the highest quality standards, harvesting the olive at its optimum moment of maturation and extracting the juice cold (T<27º) always on the same day of harvest. Thus, this Montorean firm guarantees the preservation of all its sensory and healthy qualities, as well as its high nutritional value, and they package it in such a way that each nuance and each of its attributes are preserved.

Pago las MonjasIn the previous edition of the Olive Tree Fair, Pago Las Monjas won the award for the Best Oil Mill in Spain awarded by AEMO in 2018. In this 2022, they present as a novelty a new service in their Oil Mill based on support for small oil producers. “In our oil mill, we offer the possibility for small producers to make their highest quality oil and go out on the market to market their own brand,” say its managers.

In this sense, Pago las Monjas is in charge of supervising all manufacturing, from milling to packing and packaging. In addition, they provide all the legal requirements and advice throughout the production process.

Our visitors and exhibitors of this XXI Edition will be able to know, in the C2A stand of the Fair, their products and these novelties in first person. In addition, next Wednesday, May 11, at 6:00 p.m., they will be in the Assembly Hall to accompany the presentation of this service with the tasting of 3 Premium Small Producer EVOOs, made this past season in their facilities. .
